What is Facebook?

I have heard of Facebook but never really know what it is all about. Here's what I found out today.

  1. Facebook is a social networking site that connects people with friends and others who work, study and live around them.
  2. Users of Facebook can add friends and send them messages, and update their personal profiles to notify friends about themselves.
  3. Users can also join networks organized by city, workplace, school, and region.

Why the name "Facebook" ?
  • It comes from the colloquial name of books given to students at the start of the university academic year so that they can get to know other students better.
So I realised that Facebook is actually, an online book of faces!
